Can you recommend some tasty de-caf coffee?

We drink killer coffee in this house (ground coffee using a filter cone) very strong. But recently we have both decided we're having too much caffeine. Is there an alternative?
Must be strong
Preferably fair-trade
Must be pleasant tasting

I bought some cafedirect stuff from Tescos, only strength guide 3 (of scale 1-5) It's pretty revolting - very metallic tasting.

Any suggestions, or should we stick to water?

you can get de-caff for coffee machines, the fresh ground beans stuff in the supermarket. I don't like it strong and brought it but it was far too strong for me so would be good for you

We drink decaff for medical reasons (or at least I do, my DH calls it de-naff coffee!). I think it is personl preferance, I like the Carte Noir stuff. Don't like the own brands of instant but the filter coffee is good. Best to stick to 'good makes' and certainly NOT cafe Hague (yeuk!).

Thanks! I'll look for some Carte Noir in Tescos Octopussy.

Any more suggestions?

Not Fair Trade but Carte Noire is the best instant decaf I have ever tasted (I drink it for health reasons, dh says decaf is dreadful, but when we have run out of proper Carte Noire I've given him decaf and he can't tell the difference). Their filter coffee is good too and they do do a decaf though I haven't tried it (if I'm having 'real' coffee it's treat and I have the caf!)

On a similar theme - fair-trade. Have only tried Cafe Direct and it is horrid. Is there a decent fair trade instant coffee?

Isn't de-caff coffee a contradiction in terms? Just drink less?

Co-Op do a Fairtrade decaff ground coffee and sainsburys I think. we have a packet of each at the moment.
Marthamaoo - have you tried Percol Fairtrade Comunbia? Instant - very nice - I'm drinking a cup as I type. I'm sure we would have just bought it Tesco or sainsburys or somewhere like that.

Thanks for all the messages - sounds like no consensus then! I guess I will just have to keep trying different ones and see if I can find one we like.
