Impressive but surprisingly easy dishes to make
I bought two, with the intention of frying them. Last time I did this, it didn't come out well. Now I've found you can boil them - are they still as tasty?
Also, how can you tell when they're ready to cook? Are they meant to be spotty, or all black, or what?
ooh fry them, they are yummy fried, slice into discs then gently fry
Fried is deffo brill! The only way to do them imho. Fry them slowly. Make sure the oil is hot though! You can also roast them. Don't boil them, you lose the lovely sweetness.
haven't seen a plantain for many a moon
you can't move for them, up on the stroud green road suze
bundle you must live rather close if you know Stroud Green Road!
wait till they are black, much sweeter and lovelier. don't do what my aged Ps did and put it raw on your breakfast cereal thinking it's a banana...
yes but you can't park on Stroud Green Road, so swings and roundabouts
It's very odd not seeing any Caribbean flavour people for 8 months, very odd indeed
