Exactly what I have asked......what is the best way?
Oven/micro/steam?

MarsLady Tue 19-Apr-05 18:50:07

Just follow Annabel Karmel's recipe for creamy seafood. Yummy.

Or ..... steam!

PuffTheMagicDragon Tue 19-Apr-05 18:51:22

I vote for steam

noddyholder Tue 19-Apr-05 18:51:37

wrap in foil with olive oil lemon juice and black pepper and stick in the oven for 15 mins yum

psychomum5 Tue 19-Apr-05 18:51:46

And where would I find Annabel Karmels fab sounding recipe???

psychomum5 Tue 19-Apr-05 18:52:39

Wrapped in foil sounds good and easy.....can I bung the prawns in too??

MarsLady Tue 19-Apr-05 18:52:48

either in Feeding Your Baby & Toddler..........

psychomum5 Tue 19-Apr-05 18:53:33

How long do I steam for if I go with that option??

noddyholder Tue 19-Apr-05 18:54:24

yes put it all in together

PuffTheMagicDragon Tue 19-Apr-05 18:55:05

Depends on size of the pieces of salmon, but I usually check after 5 mins as salmon cooks surprisingly quickly that way.

They are filleted chunks about the size of my fingerless palm! (And I take a medium glove)

MarsLady Tue 19-Apr-05 18:56:52

or here.....

1/2 pint milk
3 peppercorns
bay leaf
1oz butter
small onion, chopped
2 tbsp flour
1oz frozen peas

Put salmon in shallow pan with milk, peppercorns and herbs. Bring to boil, cover and simmer for 5 mins or until fish cooked and flakes easily. Remove fish with slotted spoon. Strain milk and reserve. Warm butter in a small pan. Add the onion and saute until just softened. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 min. Gradually add the strained milk, stirring until sauce thickened. Add fish, peas and prawns. Heat through. You can stir in grated cheese 1oz and season to taste.

Yummy yummy yum!

She says that you can freeze it!

psychomum5 Tue 19-Apr-05 19:12:30

Even better Now I can make some for me for when DH is away.....

psychomum5 Tue 19-Apr-05 19:19:14

Thanks ladies for the fab suggestions but after asking DH he wants to go with marslady's suggestion....

Means I get to cook up extra for me for when he is away, cos that is normally when I go with the kiddies leftovers thro sheer exhaustion!!!
