The dried chickpeas that you have to soak overnight and then boil rapidly before simmering - how do I then cook those in a casserole? Do I do the soaking and boiling rapidly and then transfer to a casserole (with all the other ingredients in) for the simmering part? And what about if I wanted to do the casserole in the slow cooker - once soaked/boiled rapidly can I then add them to a slow cooker to stay as long as I want in there?

I do the soaking separately and then just chuck in the slow cooker if it's something that will be cooked for hours and hours like a curry.

If it will be 4 hrs or less i do the rapid boiling as well.

Also, do I have to cook them straight after the boiling or could I soak/boil rapidly and then leave to cool and add to a casserole later?
