Doing ds3's christening at home in 2 weeks time and just trying to think what to do for food.

Got 12 adults and 3 kids to cater for but all are family/v. close friends and I want to do something simple that means I can chill out and relax with them rather than faff about in the kitchen which is what usually happens and I end up exhausted having not really enjoyed it.

So far I've thought of doing:

Baked potatoes (can put in the oven in the morning so they are done on our return from church)
Cold chicken drumsticks (cos can do earlier)
Salad with cherry tomatoes (dead easy)

What else can I do that could perhaps be done in advance or done very easily and quickly at the time?

sm - thought about chilli but do you think that's OK for a Sunday afternoon? Bonus would be I'd get my brother to make it and bring it with him!

lasagne...take a while to make it....but you can also stick in the oven ....

I had catering from italian restaurant...just for 12 portions of Lasagne..and the cake...
and I made the salad and drinks..nibbles...

didn't charge much as we are clients...
