Or is everyone just keeping quiet? I'd never seen one until J Oliver, but I gather they fly out of supermarkets. So who buys them?

Are they not just a school catering thing? Mine don't eat meat so I've never looked at that freezer cabinet!

I have seen them on the school menu, though! Mind you, 'they' say our county are tacking the school meals. Will believe it when I see, or rather, when I don't see twizzlers on the menu!

I'd never heard of them either until the JO programme - can't imagine they're any worse than economy sausages and burgers

I saw them on BOGOF inTescos a few weeks ago - I looked at the list of ingredients on the packet and was horrified.

I'd never heard of them before Jamie's dinners either Blu. Nope, can't confess to buying them!

well if no mumsnetters buy them, it just goes to show that Mumsnet is not an accurate reflection of society

When I heard they were on offer at Tescos I assumed they had too much stock they needed to get rid of. Dh however thinks that actually it is just a case of no bad publicity and he'd heard that their sales have gone up since the programme!

I had never heard of them before J.O. and was fairly horrified when I asked ds1 and he said they had them at school (he doesn't like them and chooses the other option - that's my boy!)

One of his friends, who has the most appalling diet of any child I've ever met, has them regularly at home. His Mum's not a MNer though.

no different from Bernard Matthews Turkey Dinosaurs (which we used to have - oh the shame, the shame )

No, I'd never heard of them before Jamie, either. I would also never claim to be a 'normal' person in any way representative of society at large.

i will hold my hands up and say me .but have decided not to buy them again. dh likes them (i dont), but as he is now on low salt, low fat, high protein diet he is getting real meat not processed crap.

dd's werent impressed by them either. says it all.

Yes, I hold my hand up and admit that we managed to get ds eating hot food with those dinosaurs...
Am glad to say that he now eats proper food and hasn't had a dinosaur in about a year. I think there are still some lurking at the back of the freezer which really need to go in the bin (more )

No, never bought these and only knew about them 'cos ds1 used to have them for school dinners, he quickly went on to packed lunch. However, like Twiglett, we used to have turkey dinosaurs but have not had them for ages.

I've never bought them - didn't even know there was such a thing until Jamie mentioned them - but we do have an emergency packet of chicken nuggets (the good ones!) lurking in the freezer.

dd1 went to a swimming party at a public school near us. Afterwards they brought the food out - chips, beans and this weird black twisty coil thing. I had NO IDEA what it was but dd1 burst into tears in case she had to eat it - it did look horrific, like something that wasn't supposed to be food IYKWIM

I used to buy twizzlers all the time. they are very yummy!!! i dont know if they are really unhealthy but it seems like every health programme i watch, twizlers are always used as an example of crap food

They used to serve them up in our school canteen. Since the JAmie thing I haven't seen them. Today's dinner was very fresh and nice
