Sunday - last night I made Jamie Oliver's very veggie sauce, with tuna, olives and linguine

Monday (tonight) - Fish pie with vegtables

Tuesday - Spanish omelette and wholegrainrice

Wednesday - Shepherds pie

Thursday - Homemade chicken nuggets (recipie courtesy of Mrs Cod!) and Jacket potatoes

I have only done that amount as food goes off so what do you think???

Also dd is on a strict yeast free diet which if I am honest is a complete nightmare!!!!!!!

Hi BH, we are doing this too but this weeks an odd one as I'm at my Mum's tomorrow night and Wed night so dh is left to his own devices and on Thursday he is out so for this week we've got:

Monday - chicken and veg cous cous

Tuesday and Wed - whatever JoolsToo is making

Thursday - pork loin chop, jacket potato and steamed veg

Friday - home made lasagne

Saturday - not decided

Sunday - ds1's party so probably a load of crap

GGgook, quickest homemade nuggets - that my kids love making with me and eat loads of. Chicken breasts (one does about 6 - 8 nuggets/goujons) chop into pieces. Beaten egg in a bowl - salt and papper if wanted, squashed up cornflakes in another bowl - don't worry about a bag and squahing into crumbs, get teh kids to do it with their hands. Dip chicken into egg, plonk into crumbs, roll around a bit and press to stick them on. Put onto baking sheet (I spray with oil first) and bake for 15 mins - turn over and 5 the other side at about gas mark 6.

Takes 5 mins to do if you are on your own, 15 mins with kids!!

This has become our family fave and really quick - I know there are other nuggets recipes on here involving minced chicken and stuff, but this is soooo easy. I am thinking of making 'fishfingers' next. We tried crushed cheese biscuits but not as popular. Nigella does a version where she marinades the chicken for a couple of days in the fridge with buttermilk (slosh milk and cut up chicken into a bag and leave to ferment!!) Then roll in crushed ritz crackers and shallow fry for a few mins each side (could oven bake) I fancy trying this one too, but we don't have ritz biscuits.

The easiest thing in the world and very popular with kids chez Enid:

Give them raw carrot sticks and strips of yellow pepper to eat while they are waiting.

Cut a chicken breast into bite size pieces. Shake some soy sauce over and a heaped teaspoon of cornflour, mix with hands. Fry in hot oil for about 5/7 minutes (check a bit to see if it is cooked through) - chuck in a bag of straight to wok noodles, toss for less than a minute and serve.

My children will only eat stirfries like this - eg with no added veg, just chicken and noodles. But if you give them the raw veg first it doesn't matter (most kids like raw carrots and yellow pepper I find).

Quick hijack to say, Enid your chicken nuggests are just the best and thanks so much for posting the recipe. I made them with my mother and DS (3.5) over the weekend - didn't realise the quantities were so large and we were like a mini production line, with every available surface covered with breadcrumbs and egg, including most of DS's head, but he loved it (had to watch him like a hawk to stop him eating the raw mixture, though!). I cooked a big trayful and everyone who was around (my father, DH etc) kept snacking on them. Loads to go in the freezer too! Thanks!

Would someone mind linking me to the chicjen nugget receipe, that's exactly what i want to make for Lottie this week. I was going to make my chicken and apple balls for her again but a new recipe would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
