Thats how I make mine too, although don;t usually bother with the onion bit and often leave out the parsley too.

Thanks charlee that's the one I normally make (have left the book at parents), thanks too norks.

Will prob hash a mix of both.

I never put eggs in either - why do all the recipes have them in????

I always use a recipe by Gary Rhodes. Cant find it online but basically...
. Poach some smoked haddock, cod and salmon
. Make a white sauce using the poaching milk
. Add lots of chopped parsley to the sauce
. wilt some spinach and spread it on the bottom of a large ovenproof dish
. flake the fish over the spinach
. throw in a few large cooked prawns
. cover with parsley sauce
. cover all with mashed potato

Def the best one I have tried.

Just made Hugh F-Ws, got the recipe on the beeb. Was so good I had thirds. Mind you the bechemel was too thick so will in future use 2 oz flour instead of 2.5

Mine is the same as whirly's but I add softened shallots to the sauce and often grated cheese/breadcrumbs over the mash for a crunchy topping.

I hate my fish pie recipe (Delia's). Inevitably it uses up every bloody pan/fork/bowl in the house and all my patience. I make four and freeze three... Thn forget how annoying it is to make, and repeat the ordeal.
