Delias christmas cake

I'm going to make this next week and as I used the famous mumsnet christmas cake thread last yr I wondered if Delias was better?

I dont, personally, think any one is better than another!shock However, its all about the alcohol! I chose any rich fruit cake recipe and I soak the fruit overnight in brandy or rum. Then, when its finished cooking, I turn it upside down and put it in the sink (on greaseproof or tinfoil!) and pour a whole can of Guiness on it! Let it soak for about an hour, then wrap it in double greaseproof and tin foil and store it in a box. Prick it and 'top up' with brnady or rum every couple of weeks.

I always use the Delia one and my Mum says hse can taste a difference - it has treacle in it as well as the usual stuff.

Agree with the alcohol one - I usually use Baileys!! grin
