How?
With what?
How often?

Made my first ever cake this year. Usually mum does it. I want it to be nice and moist.

Advice appreciated. Thankyou.

Turn upside down, skewer a few holes in the bottom.

Alcohol.

Often

Thankyou.

I didn't know about the upside down bit . My ignorance astounds me.

I only say upside down because I remember my mum doing it.

Probably so you don't have loads of holes to fill with marzipan on the top of the cake!

Googling just says to brush the cake with alcohol every month.

Hmmmmm, might explain my mum's very boozy cakes.

Use a skewer to pierce the holes in the cake, put some booze into a cup and then spoon it out with a teaspoon into said holes.

Once a week, every week, until you want to eat said cake.

Thankyou. So that gives me 6 cupfuls of booze before Christmas then? Yay! And my Dad has to drive on Christmas day.
