Can ds overdose on CHEESE?!

Ds has eaten 5 Babybel cheeses this morning (thank you dh! ) and is still asking for more cheese! I've compromised by giving him some cheese spread on toast.

He's not drinking a lot of milk at the moment so I'm hoping it'll balance out, but I am slightly concerned about the amount of salt in the cheese!

Am I being a bit PFB? He's 21 months.

TIA.

My ds ate lots of cheese when he was young as well. I think it was the salt he liked. I just gave it to him.

He'll be fine, there isn;t that much salt in cheese.

Have a look on the ingredients list of the spread - it's probably higher in salt than actual cheese.

At 21 months I think he'll be fine, honest!

Sorry - but I chuckled at you posting on this thread edam!

I don't mind him having a little salt - I was just worried about the Babybel + the cheese spread would be too much salt for him.

Mine's the same, I swear I could feed him nothing but cheese all day and he'd be happy. Well, maybe the odd bit of yoghurt too.

I would say "I'm sure he'll gorw out of it", but TBH I too could eat cheese all day

all you need is for cheesesarnie to pop up now...

(As it happens, edam is about the only cheese that I'm not addicted to. And Stilton. Apart from that cheese is LUVERLY!)

Probably - but as my cheese'a'holic 4 year old is still in good health I think he'll need to eat an awful lot of it.

had to lol as my ds2 is a mouse too. He pumps his little legs in excitement as soon as he sees a babybel and the look of delight once he gets it in his little hands He'll be 10 months next week so not up to 5 in a sitting yet.

my ds(7) is a cheese addict too, from about the same age.

Well - today he ate:

7 Babybel in total.
3 bananas.
2 bowls of cereal.
A Lot of grapes.
2 small satsuma thingies.
3 pieces of toast and cheese spread.
A croissant
A samosa and half my kebab roll.
2 portions of lasagne (with extra cheese!)
2 yoghurts

Is this normal? It seems like an awful lot...

my ds would eat cheese from one end of the day to the other if given the chance - i did worry about the salt when he was tiny but not now he is 18mo.
but probably wouldnt let him have too many babybels or cheese spread as they're quite highly processed rather than because of the salt (now im the one being pfb...saying this dh has been looking after him today so they have both probably eaten their own weight in babybels and none the worse for it...)

He looked fine on it at lunchtime!! I'm sure he will be fine! Kebab (was it from mighty bite!)

He does eat normal cheese as well - he's particularly fond of Brie (pasteurised, natch!) and LOVES a good strong mature cheddar. He won't eat mild cheddar at all!

It wasn't an actual kebab - the (very small) market in my town has an Indian food stall which sells really nice spiced lamb meat rolled up in a chapati with salad and chutneys - i think they call it a kebab out of convenience. They're quite spicy but ds LOVES them and happily polished mine off when I couldn't finish it due to horrific heartburn!
