the pudding is more spongey than a cartmel sticky toffee pudding but still very good, i like it when the toffee sauce has gone a bit chewy!

don't see why they would have higher standards, but would see why people would think that and they would get away with implying it. Their whole chickens still have hock marks.

excellent, I love this deal!

the chocolate puddings are amazing

we've had a chicken breast thing, a salmon thing and a random pasta a sausagemeat thing (all there was left!) and all were gorgeous

might have to nip into town...

a smallish chicken that cost £8 instead of £2
should have had a better life..i had thought. thats why i don't buy ones at £2

what others say about m&s

zippitippitoes · 24/10/2008 14:09

ive dne this deal a couple of times but really at ten quid you are getting corrected value raqther than a bargain

m and s just grossly overcharge for everything in the first place so this just brings the prices to comparable with shopping elsewhere

Report
zippitippitoes · 24/10/2008 14:10

i never buy any m and s food normally as their pricing is outrageous

Report
AuntieMaggie · 24/10/2008 15:45

the sticky toffee pudding is gorgeous!

i only buy the odd thing in m&s when i feel like a treat.

janeite · 24/10/2008 15:51

The sticky toffee pudding really is lovely.

I've just bought it on the way home and got dp the chicken pie, as he so rarely gets to eat meat. It leaked in my bag and now I (veggie for over 20 years) stink of gravy - grrrr.

I will have roasted asparagus for my dinner, with parmesan shavings and balsamic vinegar, with new potatoes and salad. Dp shall have leaky chicken pie, minus gravy unless he can be bothered to make some more to replace the stuff I am wearing.

Report
hifi · 24/10/2008 16:31

actually the price of food in m and s is getting more comparable with other supermarkets.

Report
lotuseener · 24/10/2008 19:47

janeite, my damn chicken pie leaked all over too!!! My canvas bag is soaked with chicken pie gravy, blugh!!!

Report
janeite · 24/10/2008 20:39

I had to throw my bag away; it's a canvas one but a sort of shiny coating that I think would have melted in the wash - so M&S are now responsible for me being less eco-aware than I would like. Shall we write letters?!
