My brain is currently frazzled, and unable to ^think^ - if I give you a list of what I have in the freezer and cupboards............

would you clever MNers be able to tell me what meals I could do with them. I need to go to Morrisons tomorrow afternoon to pick up various stuff, so can get an "extra" ingredients I may need there. I want to spend as little as possible, and make the ingredients below go as far as is physically possible Oh and if you could give me the recipe for what you suggest as well (or a basic " do it like this") that would be fabulous - thanks .

In the freezer I have

1 pack of mince
2 packs of pork chops
4 packs of sausages (enough in each pack for one meal - it was a big pack that I split)
4 packs of bacon

In the cupboards I currently have

Enough spaghetti for one meal
Rice (lots)
Tin of Kidney beans
Dried red lentils
Dried chickpeas

I also have all the ingredients required for homemade bread to accompany any meals you may suggest

Thanks

I would make a huge chilli con carne with the mince, kidney beans so you just need to buy tinned tomatoes as you have the rice. Got a packet mix in Morrison the other day was 50p approx and was yummy.

I make bacon and lentil soup (more like broth) with lentils, one onion, any oxo cube, any spare carrots or other veg lying around and tinned tomatoes. With your homemade bread it will be lovely.

okay,

meatballs (with spaghetti or penne)
toad in the hole (so long as you have flour and eggs)
and sausage casserole (if have tinned toms and kidney beans and lentils) or risotto with onion etc
Pork chops, either saute in butter with rosemary and mash etc or chop down and make herby stew.

Chuck bacon in with pasta and cheese sauce
or
with veg/tom mix on baked potato

Ok, would go out and buy

chopped tinned tomatoes
potatoes
tub of creme fraiche
mushrooms
onions
big bag of pasta
eggs

and would then make

sausage casserole with rice (sausages + toms + stock + onions + worc sauce + maybe lentils etc to bulk it out)

chilli with rice (1/2 mince etc plus bulk out as above)
spag bol (other half of mince - ditto)

sausage & tomato pie (fry sausages & chopped onions, cut sausages into chunks, put into dish with onions & tomatoes, top with mash and bake in oven for 20-30 mins)

pasta with bacon (cook pasta, chop bacon, onion & mushrooms, drain pasta, mix in bacon etc plus half creme fraiche)

bacon & mushroom omelette (possibly including chopped cooked potatoes to bulk it out)

Fry or grill pork chops. Fry mushrooms and onions in a sep pan, add other half of creme fraiche and some wholegrain mustard. pour over chops and serve with rice

Umm...

I would buy
2 tins of tomatoes
2 Onions
1 jar curry paste (or sauce if on offer)
Cheese

chickpea curry - fry onions, stir in 1/4 jar of paste, cook for 2 mins, add tin tomatoes, handful of lentils and chickpeas, cook for 30-45mins (simmer). If it goes a little dry, add a small amount of water/milk. Serve with rice (boil in tons of water for 8 mins, drain, cover and leave to steam for 8 mins, perfect rice!)

Spaghetti bolognaise.
Fry onions for as long as possible for good flavour, add mince, fry until brown, add tomatoes (if you have stock cube add this too) and a little water, some salt. Simmer for 30 mins. Serve with pasta and cheese and bread.
