I am craving blue cheese but can't have it because I'm pregnant - what could I have instead? I'm desperate!

Argh! I need that really sharp taste that goes with the creaminess.

Stupid Listeria!

Please help.

I know I want something, but what?

Can't you have it warmed up/cooked in something which removes the risk? Or is that my imagination...

Have a steak with blue cheese sauce.

or you could pretend you're french
french birds up the stick are necking roquefort by the crate, I'll wager

Ooh, can I? Not sure that is the flavour I want, but heating it would kill Listeria.

SW - oddly enough that is the right sort of thing, but not quite.

I am making notes now. I hadn't thought of a sauce either.

This is why I love MN

I thought the coal craving was bad enough, but this one... too tempting to turn down.

And now I won't have to

Limescale! Someone else craved limescale? I thought I was the only freak who did that.

Did you get your cheesey fix YKKOTC?

Thank to this thread I dreamed I was heavily pregnant. Yikes

If you like marmite/yeast extract, try that on toasted brown bread with tahini. I was mad for that combo when duffed. Satisfies that craving for strong flavours

Stilton & broccoli soup!

Report
FruitynNutty · 20/10/2008 14:08

I love broccoli and stilton soup!
I have to say I gave up with all this nonsense this time around and ate a huge portion or brie on French bread last week. The French all do this.
I haven't heard of anyone catching listeria. Pregnant or not.

If you are concerned though. I would definitely go with the soup

Oh dear it's dangerous to suggest sweet chilli sauce to a pregnant woman!

Myself and three of my friends have been addicted to the stuff. I used to have it with cheese on toast for breakfast, with a roast dinner, everything.
