Help! What to cook for a 10mt baby?

My DS is 10 months and he can't eat a jar/tin of baby food, it makes him really constipated! He has been eating proper food for 6 months and I have run out of ideas for things to cook him. Does anyone have any quick and easy recipies that I can try?

make mince with small chopped onion and carrots, mixed herbs, garlic, tomatoes

pasta of your choice

make a white sauce

mix the mince with the pasta and put a layer in a casserole, layer of white sauce then another layer of mince and pasta (like lasagne)

everyone can eat it and you can chop it up for baby

in fact to be honest you can chop up anything for a 10month old, just make it with no salt

chicken casserole and rice
stew (beef, potatoes, carrot, onion, courgette, potato, stock slow cooked in oven)
fish pie

Know how you feel, it's easy to get stuck in a rut. The cook books by Annabel Karmel are bril for ideas and they show you food to do as they grow right up to normal family food. Hope that helps.

P.S have you tried giving DS a bit of prune juice for the constipation. You only need a little amount otherwise will end up with an explosion

Also my DD loves crumpets or pikelets coz they're nice and soft to chew. So they make a quick and easy lite meal with cheese or ham.

Thankyou these are really good! I do try to give him as much of our food as possible but its days when we have things like fish and chips (not very often) Does anyone have any ideas for lentils, I looked on the website but these things look quite fiddley.

Lentils are extremely easy to cook. Put them in water and boil for around 30 minutes or until they are soft. I liked to mix abit of vege and make it like a casserole.

I sprout lentils for dd and I like eating them too... they can also be cooked once sprouted into a lentil soup/casserole. I made a sprouted lentil, carrot and potato soup with abit of stock the other day.... it was very tasty.

The pikelet idea mentioned... I make millet pancakes (or you could make the regular versions) they are tasty and easy to consume.

Sorry for my ignorannce, but what is sprouting a lentil?

info on how to sprout lentils

It is simple and really healthy... and did I mention dirt cheap. I have a sprout house I am such a devotee. Mungs beans are good sprouted too... bit like having a pea patch in a jar. Most kids love peas

Lentil stew - fry onion, carrot, and anyother veg you have lying around. Add lentils (I tend to use 1/2 pack orange, and a handful of puy or yellow - the bigger ones don't go as squashy so add texture) Cover with water, plus half an inch, bring to boil, simmer until soft.

I tend to make a bit extra of our food when we have stews, and then mash and freeze in portions or ice cubes to get out when we are having stuff he can't
