Can I eat leftover chicken from a roast cooked on Wednesday?

Cooked on Wed night, I had some leftovers last night but there's still some left. Will it still be Ok to chuck in a stir fry tonight?

I would as long as it's been kept in the fridge will be fine.

As long as you make sure it's piping hot to kill off any bacteria (sorry) then it should be fine. I do it all the time with a 3 day limit. I've never had an upset tum yet.

i always thought cooked chicken was ok to be used 3 days after no more

for myself (not charges) i have a 5 day rule (so lomg as stored in fridge and hot etc) and i havent died or been ill yet

Agree with Moondog. Think of Christmas turkey leftovers. Sometimes we have been eating those up close to New Year!

Though actually, I give leftover chicken 3 days and then I give whatever is left to the cats.

yes, I usually give three days for leftovers as a rule of thumb, but have been known to make soup at three days and then keep the soup for three days too.

Thanks for the replys, I made a delicious stir fry with the chicken, green peppers, cashews, black bean sauce and noodles.
