can anybody tell me how to make croutons please..

Quick question hopefully and I'm assuming I can make them on the day they are needed?

I want to make big chunky croutons (I only have granary bread in the house, will this be OK?) I'll be slicing it myself so can make them nice and thick..

cube bread, sprinkle with herbs and bake in the oven on a very low heat until crispy.

just looked on bbc site.. looks like cover in olive oil and pop in oven 180 for 15mins?

sound ok?

Cut the bread into cubes. Place them in a bowl and drizzle lots of olive oil and sprinkle lots of salt and pepper and toss them well to make sure they are coated.
Spread them out evenly on a baking tray and place them in a hot oven for 5-8 minutes.

I made them, they are lush but too salty.. hopefully the salad will balance that out a bit?!?!
