Will this be an ongoing thing, or just a short-term plan for this fortnight?

baked potatoes?

you'll save more if you batch cook things like the stew and spag bol and load em up with veg.

pasta bake - cheap value pasta, & toms then pad with veg & a couple of slices of cheap ham.
meal for about £1.50

bake spuds either scoop out the tattie for mash & save the skins for day 2 with some cheese/bacon in it, with salad and maybe home made pizza?

or when you peel your tatties for mash keep the peelings, apparently you can shallow fry them as sort of wedgy crisps if they have a bit of spud on them.

macaroni cheese
vegetable risotto
shepherds or fish pie
potato bake
mushroom stroganoff

do you have anything in your cupboard to work from?

bulk food out with lentils and vegetables or cut out meat altogether for more meals and eat vegetarian meals. You cna buy cheap tinned lentils or basics vegetables - no difference with these.

have a look around and see what offers are on. Not sure if tofu is still half price in sainsburys - tofu stir fry.

Buy a chicken.

Roast it- one meal.

Take off all the meat- use for stir fry/pasta/curry/sandwiches. Or casserole with pearl barley thrown in.

Boil carcass to make chicken and vegetable soup.

3 dinners from one chicken.

Sounds a bit odd but I also buy those filled pastas when they are on offer.

Mix them with frozen peas and sweetcorn, or onion, mushroom etc. and mix in a tub of garlic and herb philadelphia.

Will make quite a lot.
