Shred cabbage, fry diced bacon till fat runs, add shredded cabbage, stir fry for a minute. Add teeeeny bit of water and clamp on lid for NO MORE than 2-3 mins. Uncover and stir through small knob of butter and some ground black pepper. EAT.

Remove caterpillars carefully. Discard cabbage. Wait some time for funny brownish sticky stage and then ooooh at the lovely butterflies. Fry lightly (no oil) and serve with a gentle Chablis.

or brussel sprouts, they are just cabbages in disguise.

Report
onepieceoflollipop · 13/09/2008 20:51

They are mini cabbages Lomond, a bit like courgettes are tiny marrows.

Lomond · 13/09/2008 20:52

Really, I didn't know that

Report
onepieceoflollipop · 13/09/2008 20:54

Report
Lomond · 13/09/2008 20:55

LOL, but cabbages grow in the ground and brussels grow on stick things!

Report
onepieceoflollipop · 13/09/2008 20:57

of course!

Report
Lomond · 13/09/2008 20:59

Lomond I feel bad that we are hijacking such an important thread, it is very disrespectful and flippant of us. We are distracting genuine posters from the important business of cooking cabbage.

Rhubarb will set custy on us which is scarier than being reported to mnhq.

cocolepew · 13/09/2008 21:04

The stick things are, in fact, cucumbers,

Report
Lomond · 13/09/2008 21:05

no no no the stick things that the brussels grow on, catch up!
