beyond a great, unpretentious meal, we're also after good acoustics and no piped music

Passione sprang to mind but the room's dull... and also the menu's a bit eyewatering: mains in late twenties. I'd pay those prices if the room was more gorgeous, I guess

anywhere near W1 would be good -- bayswater, soho, marylebone, mayfair
