Sounds like it should be nice and have some in the fridge...but haven't the first idea what to cook.
bacon and fennel risotto?or pasta:fry the bacon, fennel, and ideally some fennel seeds in some olive oil.when it looks nice, put the pasta on. add some white wine if you have it to the bacon and fennel, and burn it off to just a dribble. toss in cooked pasta. I have done this with fennel and sausage meat and was yum.
