Best way to store hand-picked apples?

I've just picked about 40 or so apples from next-door's tree (currently vacant!). However, I can't eat that many without getting severe indigestion, so how should I store them? Is cold best? Paper bag in shed perhaps? Would ideally like them to keep for a while as there's another 150 or so on the tree ripening nicely.... can feel a glut of apple pies and crumbles coming on...

Cold s best. Perhaps just put a box outside the house and let everyone take them

in the cold, on some sort of tray, perhaps individually wrapped up in newspaper/paper if you can be bothered, or at least not touching eachother

Good idea about the not touching.... will perhaps pick up some boxes from the supermarket tomorrow with the dimpled linings.

I stew them, then freeze the mush in freezer bags and use as apple sauce, or pie/crumble filling. I have never had much success with storing whole apples.

We used to wrap individually in newspaper, and store in a box in the shed.

Ooooh, cold crisp apples.

Yum.
