Any ideas?

They probably need to be used in the next day or so

peel them chop into slices and freeze.

If you put them into 'useable' size bags iygwim then you only need to take out what you need to defrost.

Stew & freeze

We use stewed apple at least once a week and make bags of it in the autumn to see us through the winter

you can eat stewed apple with custard, make crumble with it, have with roast pork, mix with berries to make compote, have on pancakes and so on.

Thanks everyone- all these ideas sound yummy and am feeling hungry now as a result!

Apple Charlotte is lovely

Layers of apple & breadcrumbs with a bit of butter on top

Apple makes a nice toastie (with choc drops if needing luxury)

have you got any cold areas to store them in - shed, garage?

ackcherly prob due to climate change they may not be cold enough any more. anyway, we used to store cooking apples in single layers with paper between each one for several months (only I used to eat about 4 per night).

Otherwise blackberry and apple pie/crumble
