dd 13 months tends to throw her food on the floor and if she has a bowl/plate she throws that as well. it's not that she is full, she just does it. I say no but should i just bin the food and give more or give her nothing (don't want to starve her) help?

my lo throws stuff off her plate too sometimes, she gets told no n if she carries on we take the plate away for a while then gve it back to her to try again. if she does it all the time i don't know what I'd do, maybe take it away and you feed her rather than leave her to her own devices? or give her a very small amount to do what she will do with and you feed her the rest?

God knows what the answer is but DS (11mo) does it too. What we do at the moment is to put one piece of food on his highchair tray at a time as he mainly seems to throw it when there is an excess of food there. But then I worry that he isn't getting used to eating properly this way...

just finished clearing haddock and sausage off carpet, another day another meal on the floor, ha ha. Chose to ignore her tonight and put her dinner there bit by bit as suggested, anything thrown was binned and not replaced.

tab1, i've had that tonight. My lo's a bit older than yours (18mo) but still plays with her food rather than eats it sometimes. It's easier i find to try to teach them to put bits they don't want back on the plate or in a bowl or something like. My lo usually chews meat then puts it back on the plate when the flavour's gone!

She's starting to get the message that if it gets thrown she doesn't get it back and gets fed the rest of her meal by either me or oh. It just takes perseverance and a bit of patience, which is not always easy by any means but its best to at least act calm even if you're frustrated so as not to wind lo up any more imo
