Clementines

This may be a stupid question but is there any danger in eating too many clementines?

I've recently become totally addicted to them and can eat 4-5 in one go without realising, followed by the same amount a bit later, a bit later, a bit later... I've noticed that I can easily eat between 10-20 a day and I'm not even a good fruit & veg eater!

(p.s. I'm not pregnant, so I can't blame my sudden clementine eating frenzy on that kind of craving!)

well, i have not had the clemantine craving but have had similar with raw carrots. As many as 15 a day!

I have no idea what it all means, I was not pregnant either, but wondered if it is because we are lacking in a particular vitamin or mineral.

Often wondered if it is dangerous to eat so much of one item, hopefully some knowledgeable person will be along to explain all!

I don't think that the clementines would cause a problem. However eating too many carrots can cause your skin to become orange from too much beta-carotene! Not sure how many is too many though!

yes, i could see the palms of my hands getting an orange tinge definately, but wondered if it is more dangerous than that, because when i was craving them i had to have them or got really ratty!! Just couldnt stop.

Thanks for your comments - it sounds like I'm OK to continue to eating them then (she says as she's just finished another 4!)...

forevercleaning: my thumb nails are a bit orangey from peeling them but if that's the only side-effect, it's fine!
