Following breakfast, he gets one 'full' meal per day (usually lunch) and a lighter meal (usually dinner).

For his light meal I have been doing:

eggy bread
cheese sandwich
cream cheese and grape sandwich
baked beans
omelette

but need more inspiration / suggestions for variety....

Great thread HMC - shall watch this with interest, and may try your suggestions, although mine still chokes on bread and scrambled eggs at mo!

He likes sucking skinless apple chunks and biscotti - so far that's all I can seem to manage to get him to eat other than totally mushed up dinner!

Another fan of pasta mixed with pesto. DD loved it and it's a great one for taking out and about too. Sometimes mix cream cheese in with the pesto too.

Also - DD also loved banana on toast, especially if I ate it with her off a 'real' plate. Another big favourite in our house (still is to be honest) is avocado. DD will eat a whole one in one go just cut up into chunks.

Thanks for starting this thread. We have an 18 month old who is still very reluctant to try table food. I'm hoping one of these will tempt him.

big breadsticks with veg purees or dips - any combination

lightly cooked big carrot sticks

cheesey pasta

Any big florets cooked veg, broccoli or cauliflour

potato wedges baked in oven with olive oil

if they can't manage to eat it all, they can have a good suck and get a lot of it down. Basically anything that is easy to hold, is big and soft.

Pancakes
Potato cakes (leftover mash, flour and buter baked in oven)
Homemade mini fishcakes or chicken nuggets - make up lots, fry then freeze. You can then put them frozen in the oven to warm through. I serve these with microwaved peas/sweetcorn which ds loves to pick up.
