Beef Cobbler!

I'm trying to branch out from my normal repetoire and asked DH what he fancied next week as I'm writing my shopping list...(should know better I know...) Anyway he fancies a beef cobbler. I know what this is but honestly don't think I've has one since school! In his opinion the "cobbler" bit is more sconelike than dumpling but I can't find a recipe in any of the books I have - any ideas?

I just make a beef stew, recipe will vary accrording to what I have in or fancy, then make plain scones (sometimes add herbs or cheese)then put on top of the stew and cook in a hot oven for 20 - 25 mins. Try googling if you need an actual recipe, was going to link to one for you but there were so many. Just search on "beef cobbler" and browse til you find one you like the sound of.

Thanks very much - I thought about googling but thought I get a lot of useless hits! I don't think I have ever made a scone in my life so this will be interesting|

OK, have googled again and found this - a MNet recipe from MartianBishop - must be reliable!
Don't worry if you don't have all the ingredients for the stew, just replace with other things or leave out.
