Lunnch ideas for DD's friend and her mum
(5 Posts)I have my DD's friend (5) and her mum coming for lunch what I can give them to eat. Normally I would do loads of bits on the basis that everyone should like something but I'm trying to economise now but want to do something slightly more impressive than cheese and ham rolls.
Perhaps a simple pasta dish ?
It's not expensive and children usually love it.
Could be a simple spag bol or a good quality tomato, bacon lardons, with penne etc ??
(Serve sauce separately in case little one has an issue with it.)
Or, roast a chicken and you and other mum have it with salad and little one with plain tagliatelle and peas??
Or all of you have it with boiled spuds + salad ??
and/or bowl of raw crudites (batons of carrots, cauliflower florets, radishes, batons of cucumber with a dipping sauce made with some creme fraiche) to start
followed by baked spuds and good ham and salad???
Ice cream + good wafer biscuit with or without fruit to finish???
Or a home-made soup (not expensive to do a carrot & coriander for example which dc should like) followed by cold meats and salad??
Followed by chocolate muffins or piece choc cake?
My five-year-old and her friends like to eat all of the above ...
French bread, nice salad and a range of nice cheeses with grapes and/ or ham.
Pudding- meringues with berries and cream
