I promised to make and decorate a christening cake for my friend for a week on Sunday but now I can't be bothered. the thought of baking it and buying all the stuff just doesn't do it for me. Usually I can't wait to get cracking but urghhh!!! Oh well had my moan - suppose will have to go and buy the stuff tomorow as back at work Monday after being on hols for a week.

could you (whispers very quietly ) cheat?????????????

helsi - a little cheat would be to buy the M&S plain white iced cake (that they sell in differnent sizes for weddings) then do a bit of fancy decoration on top of the white.

Alternatively buy a plain uniced cake and decorate it then pass it off as your own

You can buy really nice ready made decorations from a specialist cake decorating shop. E.g a crib and baby made out of icing or a beatrice potter jemima puddleduck kind of thing!

Oh why didn't I think of cheating (she says sarcastically). But now the idea has been put into my head (!) I think I will go order one at the shop in the market tomorrow - I can go pick it up next Saturday.
