strawberry compote?

Anyone got a simple recipe for this (using fresh strawbs)?

Chuck the strawbs in a pan, bit of water, bit of sugar and heat. Hay presto strawberry compote.

I normally make it with a mixture of summer berries and serve with greek yog.

i'd just cook it 'til it looks ready berolina... sorry, that isn't very helpful. maybe half an hour, a bit less?
