It is actually an annabel karmel recipe.......

But me and DS made it today and I am just eating it now - and it is bloody gorgeous
Easy to make with kids and scoff over xmas!
here you are

older children could easily make it by themselves....
totally gorgeous

am I right in thinking this is ONLY 1% fat Popsycal?

popsycal Sun 19-Dec-04 19:43:54

only 0.5% jampot....especially if one is pregnant!

popsycal Sun 19-Dec-04 19:44:23

it has apricots and raisins in so it must be healthy!

SnowmAngeliz Sun 19-Dec-04 19:45:02

mmmmmmmmmmmm
will try that tomorrow

popsycal Sun 19-Dec-04 19:45:29

grease the tin really really well though.......and put more ginger bickies in than digestives i reckon....

SPARKLER1clausiscomingtotown Sun 19-Dec-04 19:45:29

mmm yummy - might have to give this one a go as a school holidays activity. thanks.

roisin Sun 19-Dec-04 19:54:17

Ooh, I might give this recipe to the boys to try out later in the week - thanks Popsy!

They are both love baking, but they haven't done any for ages.

I love the school holidays when we have time to just DO things, rather than always having to keep to a tight schedule

DoesntChristmasDragOn Sun 19-Dec-04 19:57:26

Don't do it. Something in the recipe for "tiffin" creates a substance akin to crack cocaine. I know because I made a slab last week and it was gone in under 48 hours.

DoesntChristmasDragOn Sun 19-Dec-04 19:58:39

I recommend lining the tin with greaseproof paper. Oh, and slightly out of date custard creams work well too.

popsycal Sun 19-Dec-04 20:02:31

grease proof paper - excellent idea...
mihgt just have to make anohter batch to try that out

PickasillyChristmasName Sun 19-Dec-04 20:10:43

That looks gorgeous.

May well try it on Tuesday (Christmas holidays for me start at 5:30 tomorrow, when the course I'm teaching will end )

popsycal Sun 19-Dec-04 20:11:39

about a third of the tray has disappeared since i started this threa.d......

DoesntChristmasDragOn Sun 19-Dec-04 20:12:31

See, crack cocaine. Told you so

popsycal Sun 19-Dec-04 20:13:54

popsycal Sun 19-Dec-04 20:16:15

sugaralmond Sun 19-Dec-04 20:19:02

popsycal Sun 19-Dec-04 20:21:24

sugaralmond Sun 19-Dec-04 20:27:05

Just the thing my guys would like!!!

spacedonkey Sun 19-Dec-04 20:33:29

this would not make it as far as the fridge

popsycal Sun 19-Dec-04 20:39:05

oh it is way nicer after the fridge - believe me, i tried both!!

roisin Tue 21-Dec-04 17:46:06

Mmmm... this looks delicious - it's been in the fridge for about 20 minutes, so we're being very self-controlled here

I hope it's worked OK: Just at a crucial point ds1 and I got embroiled in a heavy discussion about the physics/chemistry of fire; properties of oil; electrical fires; good/bad conductors ...?! I realise it's a very simple recipe, but our minds really weren't on the job!

DoesntChristmasDragOn Tue 21-Dec-04 17:48:17

I don't think there's any scope for stuffing this one up really. unless you burnt the chocolate mix rather than melted it...
