Best Slow Cooker

So my very old slow cooker has died a death. I got it back when we first got a house so it was very basic and small, it was only for 2 when we got it and now we have 2 hungry kids.
I’m looking to get a new one but there is so much choice. What do you have and would you recommend it, or what have you had that i should steer clear of?

We can see this thread is a little old now and some of the suggestions may be out of date, but if you’ve landed here looking for recommendations, we’ve recently updated our best slow cooker page with lots of great options, as recommended by Mumsnet users – we hope you find it useful. Flowers

I had a cheapie from Tesco that lasted years - until it was dropped.
I did a lot of research, & ended up with a Crockpot. The bowl can also go in the oven for browning, or cheese topping.
I was going to get a "sear & stew", until I realised I couldn't use my s.c. liners in it.

I've never been able to tell the difference between them. Mine is a 6.5l Morphy Richards one that is now about 18 years old and still going strong. I'll get another big one when I need to, but won't put much thought into it.

I'd get an instant pot. The same effect in a fraction of the time!

I like the sear and stew because I brown things first.

I also like the seat and stew because it doesn’t chip when I drop it, it’s light enough that I don’t drop it so much, and I can brown things in it.

I have an instant pot. They're often on sale during black Friday and at various other times on amazon.

It's lovely, it's got a sautee function for browning the meat and frying the onions, a slow cook option (I did buy the slow cooker lid as well, but I think you can use the normal lid?) and a pressure cooker which I mainly use for cooking rice.
