Start using Mumsnet PremiumBought a reasonably expensive gammon joint for this weekend and had it delivered by Sainsbury. It's Use By date is not until 20 Jan, but I've just been to check cooking times and there seems to be quite a lot of opaque liquid sitting around the joint in the vacuum pack.
There are no splits etc in the packaging - it stills seems to be 100% sealed.
I put it in the fridge as soon as it was delivered.
If it smells OK when I open it is it likely to be OK do you think, or do you think this is a sign that it's been left out of chill for too long somewhere?
