Start using Mumsnet PremiumJamie's gravy question
(6 Posts)I'm making Jamie's get-ahead gravy and my chicken wings have been subbed with chicken legs in my online order arriving shortly. They would work okay, wouldn't they? Can't face going out to the supermarket just for chicken wings!
Should do! I have pre-roasted turkey legs to make gravy before thanksgiving and follow this recipe which is basically the same as Jamie's but using legs, and without the star anise: www.thekitchn.com/how-to-make-turkey-gravy-ahead-of-thanksgiving-cooking-lessons-from-the-kitchn-132850
Excellent, thanks! First time making this gravy.
I've done it with legs before it's fine, cook them for longer and make sure they're really crispy for flavour
Oh and I leave the star anise out it doesn't work imo

Good, because I don't have any!
