Best Ever Boxed Chocolates?

I'd like to buy a special box of chocolates -as part of a present.

Which would be the best 'make' to buy? I've stayed away from sweet things myself in recent years, and now feel a bit lost in making a good choice.

Hotel Chocolate used to be good and seems to be everywhere. Chococo has been well-liked in the past. Do you have a special favourite?

Fortnum and Mason's are expensive but worth it.

Paul A Young and Charbonnel et Walker.
Hotel Chocolat is hugely over-rated and sickly sweet.

I hate the word sickly.

Salted Caramel Truffles from Fortnum & Mason. I don't even like caramel that much but wow!

I rate Chocolate Society, Lauden and a lovely little patisserie, Robineau

With the Robineau link, there is a category selector tab at the top of the page.

La Maison du Chocolat. Used to be able to get them in Selfridges. Think you can get online & probably Harrods. Fortnums also very good.

For vegan chocolates Booja Booja are gorgeous. Otherwise my favourites are Leonidas, Rococo or Venchi have lovely packaging or any box of good quality gianduja or gianduiotto would win the day for me, absolute heaven and often gluten free if anyone is shopping for a coeliac sufferer and looking for something indulgent.

Or try to a chocolatier locally, you’d be surprised by how common they are - so much nicer than the big chocolate houses.
