Aluminum-Free Baking Powder?

Is Dr Otker baking powder aluminium free?

I’m going to make some buffalo wings, however it’s an American recipe and calls for aluminium free baking powder, I’ve never heard of this before and can’t really find any info on google.

Just use what you have. I've never heard of an issue with aluminium in baking powder

Baking soda isn't baking powder. Baking soda is bicarbonate of soda. Baking powder contains bicarbonate of soda plus an acid.

E500 Sodium carbonates

No mention of aluminium

@dementedpixie thanks. I know baking powder and baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) are different. The recipe calls for baking powder.

DH did wings in the Air Fryer using Dr Oetke baking powder. He only used a fairly small amount but they were vile, so I would recommend trying a different brand.

I've listed the 2 E numbers in Dr Oetker and neither of them mention aluminium.

sodium aluminum phosphate and sodium aluminum sulfate are both acids that are used in baking powders but neither are in Dr Oetker

E541 : Sodium aluminium phosphate
E521 : Aluminium-sodium sulphate

Different E numbers which aren't in Dr Oetker

Thanks all, it is just flavoured with spices and then used as a coating to get them crispy in the oven rather than having to deep fry them. I have never heard of using it like that, it’s usually cornflour. I might look for an alternate recipe!
