I was told this recipe was really tasty but can't remember qty's and what else I should put in it, and can't find it online, (altho I did a few weeks ago!)

Does anyone know of it?

My aunt has the following recipe using the ingredients you listed

campbells tim of chicken, mayonnaise (she says it must be hellmans), chicken breast fillets, broccolli, double cream and paprika powder.

Cut the chicken into bite size pieces, ditto brocolli. In a bowl mix the soup, 4 big tablespoons of double cream, and 4 big tablespoons of mayo with a teaspoonful of paprika. mix iot well, then add the chicekn. pour into an oven proof dihs and plac ethe broccolli artistically in the dish 9her words, not mine). Cook for 40-60 minutes until chicken is cooked. 5 mins before end of cooking grate cheese on top.
I phoned her and asked her as I recalled she had a recipe. i've had it once and it is nice.

mmm that actually sounds lovely.

I use a recipe for chicken pieces that includes, chutney, salad cream and curry powder, poured over chicken and baked until chicken cooked. It is simply delicious but you have to use a specific South African chutney for this - Mrs Balls, usually available in Tesco or Sainsbury's.

FLIER, you should try it sometime. Let me know if you want quantities.

This recipe won't let you down! It may sound odd but it is really yummy!

We usually have 6 pieces of chicken (usually thighs with skin on)

Use a 2pint measuring jug and fill half with salad cream (you can use mayo but you won't get the tangy taste) and the other half with Mrs Balls chutney, add 1 teaspoon of curry powder, mix all together, pour over chicken and bake until cooked (45-60min) in 180oC oven.

The sauce is all tangy and gooey and the skin on chicken all crispy! This is not a recipe for all you dieters though!

Let me know what you think when you've tried it!

P.S. I have sometimes used a whole bottle of chutney. The sauce should be like a peachy/beige colour.

Sounds like Chicken Divan, one of my Mum's that has become a bit of a hit here too. Sounds weird, tastes lovely!

Layer frozen green beans on the bottom of a casserole
Add layer of cooked chicken
Mix Campbells Cream of Mushroom soup with lots of mayonnaise and some curry powder, pour over chicken
Melt some butter in frying pan and add breadcrumbs and cook until 'toasted' Top the casserole with the crumbs and cook in oven until done! Sorry, don't do measuring/timing for somethings!

I thought this had escaped from the ski yougurt thread!

DHs aunty used to do chicken breasts in a crockpot with a tin of condensed mushroom (Campbells though!) and a few other bits. Tasted Ok I guess.

these are escapee recipes from highly successful campbell's soup marketing in america. maybe 50s?

nothing really wrong wiht it, but usually they involve very bland ingredients wtih very salty sauce. hence much addition of paprika etc for uk.

I'm sure I had this at someone's house once. It does sound awful but it tasted quite nice. Not sure if it's too good for you though with mayonnaise and double cream in it

Saltire - I'm freaked. MIL uses campbells condensed for loads of stuff including the weird brocoli, chicken and mayo one - I always thought she made it up!

My Mum also does the chicken, soup, mayo and brocolli thing. Had no idea that it was such a common perversion. It is yummy but not sure I could bring myself to do it!

I've done a casserole with tinned shroom soup with chicken and lemon juice....but not the mayo.

But I do remember my auntie making a really really lovely chocolate cake with mayo in it.

NO! It sounds disgusting! The addition of mayo does, anyway.

yes we do one and it's yummy.

soup, 2 tablespoons mayo, tablespoon of lemon juice, ground black pepper and 2 teasp of curry powder, with a 'canful' of milk (ie two thirds or so of soup tin). mix all that together, pour over cooked chicken pieces and we add mushrooms and green peppers. Put croutons on top(thick bread, cut into squares, tossed in melted butter or marg.) Bake in the oven for 40-45 mins.

Sounds wierd but it is delish. We've had it when friends round for dinner and they thought it superb too.

we serve it with rice.
