Haagen daaz dulce de leche but they've hardly ever got it anywhere.
failing that, HD pralines and cream
or I had a lovely lemon meringue pie one once long ago

Phish food is LOVELY. All chocolately and caramelly and marshmallowy and has fish made out of chocolate. I seem to vaguely remember its named after a rock band called Phish.

I like two:

B&J Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
Gu Vanilla - I think it's the nicest vanilla you can get from the supermarket and is lovely with Gu choclate brownie's sprinkled on top.

yeo valley is lovely as is mackies (but i think they might only be in scotland). i like my icecream hydrogenated fat free!

Report
Blu · 26/09/2007 13:56

Mackies is my favourite vanilla, being slightly more grainy and icy and Italiante than ones like H-D and B&B, which can be a bit sickly.

I don't like B&J - too sickly and full of bits of stuff - more like a mars bar bunged in the freezer than ice cream.

GU choc - very very dark and bitter (for ice cream) - fab.

Home-made, everytime................

Report
Lilymaid · 26/09/2007 14:09

Agree with the home made though for ordinary bought vanilla ice cream Mackies is a cut above most. You can get it from Sainsburys, Waitrose (organic version of course) and the Co-op in my area of East Anglia.

Mackies is the best kind to get in the supermarket, unfortunately I can't get it down here.

ta - don;t often go into richmond but should try that. Those choclates are divine. Sushimummy bought me some as a present - offer to swap DS for a bigger box if she had one.
