Favourite food for entertaining outside other than BBQ

If we eat outside with friends, it's either BBQ or whatever we would eat inside just served outside. Discussion with a group of friends suggested that there was food you served outside and food you served inside. Really? I didn't know that was a thing.
So 2 questions:

1. other than BBQ is there such a thing as 'outside food'?
   
2. regardless of the answer to 1 - what are your favourite 'outside foods' other than BBQ ?

A massive paella which can be done on top of a gas bbq (or even a charcoal one I guess). You do need a huge wide paella pan though.

Thank you @BigusBumus . I do have a paella pan and have served it outside but have cooked it inside in the hob. Do you think it makes a difference?

Aioli

Hmm it seems if I add garlic mayo to anything and eat it with my hands, it becomes outside food!!

My parents came round for lunch in the garden Friday.
While it wasnt fancy I did sandwiches and boxed theirs up, left them on their table before they got here.

Did their faves. Dad really sharp cheddar and red onion. Mum- roast beef, mustard and rocket
Made some sausage rolls too.
Bought since nice crisps olives etc.
And washed it all down with prosecco

It was amazing.
