Best cook book for baking?

I'm looking for some inspiration. I like wholesome family bakes rather than frilly creations that are all looks and no substance. I have Nigella's Domestic Godess, which is probably most to my taste, and I sometimes use Leith's Baking Bible, but find the recipes a bit hit and miss.

Any recommendations?

Mary Berry’s Baking Bible is hard to beat

Yes another one for Mary Berry's baking bible.

I use domestic goddess and the Mary Berry one mentioned. I find Mary Berry recipies work and Nigella tends to be delicious (all that butter and cream).

My mum swears by the dairy cookbook. It's old, has loads of recipes per page.

Thanks. I don't have any Mary Berry books so that sounds like an obvious omission from my cookbook library.

The best I’ve ever found is Annie Bell’s Baking Bible. It is really comprehensive, and the recipes just work every time. I can’t emphasise enough how amazing that is as I have a high failure rate with other books! But not with that one, l suddenly become a master baker.
Plus I find there’s a lot more variety in it, & interesting ideas, than in Mary Berry’s baking books. I don’t understand why she isn’t better known.
