Can I use light brown sugar instead of light muscovado sugar

I would like to make some chocolate chip cookies from one of my baking recipe books.

The book requires 2oz of light muscovado sugar. I do not have any but I do have light brown sugar- are they the same thing? If not, can I use light brown sugar instead of ligh muscovado sugar?

Thanks!

I'd use it. I treat recipes as guidelines, not cast in stone instructions. (not saying it always turns out well, but it is a relaxed and flexible approach that suits me).

I made cookies today with demerara that I usually make with muscovado sugar and they turned out perfect.
