50th birthday cake recipe

My sister turns 50 in a couple of weeks and has asked me to make a cake. I am looking for a recipe for a delicious celebration cake that is easy to make and preferably freezes well. Does anyone have any good ideas?🎂The cake needs to feed about 15 people.

this funfetti cake tastes lovely and freezes well (tips on how to freeze it here). Note: confectioners’ sugar is the same thing as icing sugar if you didn't know. It confused me until I had a google x

Lovely idea. Thank you. I have just found out that she would like a lemon celebration cake. Any recommendations for one of those? Something large, lemony and not dry!

for a lemon cake, try this recipe, but add grated lemon zest to the sugar and blend it before adding to the cake, and add a lemon glaze on top.
