I could kill for some sticky ginger cake. Haven't been able to find any in supermarkets since lockdown started. Sigghhh

rachel whoosit...irish woman has a great recipe if you cannot wait

Sticky Gingerbread I don't bother with the syrup or the icing, and sometimes I leave out the crystallised ginger if I don't have any, I do slather it with butter though grin

I heartily endorse the Rachel Allen recipe. It’s fantastic and always requested in advance by visiting friends. I do the syrup and the icing but I like the idea of doing it plain and buttering it ... yum yum.

Iceland had them. And they were supersized, so I happily shared it with DP. It was smothered in cold tinned ambrosia custard and absolutely delicious. I hope you manage to find some.

Ohhh that looks a good recipe. My Nan used to make it when we were young.
I had to double check, but molasses is black treacle - that is the ingredient that makes it gooood!
