Hi,
We will be having a party for our dd 4th birthday at a local leicsure centre hall type place! There will be lots of different activities like a HUGE indoor bouncy castle, trampolines, painting, toys etc....
No limit of peeple, probably about 20 kids.I really stress out about getting everything just right but this year I would really like to enjoy our daughter's party rather than stress!!!!
What sort of food do you think we should do?
Minimum effort required ...
I though: cold sausages, crisps and the normal rubbishy party food....(our daughter doesn't eat this sort of rubbish all the time but fine for a party!).
Any ideas greatfully received please!!!

I am amazed at how excited my DS gets when he sees a spread that consists of:

Chocolate cake
Jelly
Jam sandwiches
Cheese sandwiches
Sausages & sausage rolls
Scotch eggs
Crisps
Breadsticks
cheese&pineapple on sticks

We had a party at the weekend where all of the above went down a storm. all the kids (aged 3/4) turned their noses up at the following:

Mini pitta breads stuffed with burgers (maximum effort: minimum gain)
Carrot, celery & cucumber sticks
quiche slices
pizza slices (but the adults wolfed them down)
cheese-on-toast slices

seems that they had zero interest in anything hot...

lots of good suggestions here

just to add - fruit platter of strawberries, blueberries, melon and grapes (or similar) goes down v well with 4 year olds I know! you could cut the sandwiches into shapes with biscuit cutters for added appeal!

have fun!

you're making me hungry just thinking about it!!
I am just going "copy - paste" on all your suggestions at the moment!!!
(I'm getting organised as it's not till November!)

Good suggestions about the fruit, thanks. I wanted a healthy option but wasn't sure but I will always eat the fruit if the kids don't!
I just rememebr on our dd 1st birthday we had a party at home (mostly adults and about 5 kids) and most of the food went in the bin and I was really upset as I had spent the WHOLE day cooking! I was totally gutted and never want to do that again!!!
We were thinking about a soft play party but she's done that although it's easy as they do the food an all that but this way she can have as many kids there as she wants.

For dd's I did filled finger rolls sliced into 3 (some ham, some tuna), cocktail sausages (you can buy precooked from Sainsbury's etc), pineapple and cheese cubes on sticks, chopped peppers, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, cheesy biscuits, hula hoops, twigletts, grapes, Choc rolls and mini fairy cakes (Sainsbury's do packs of 12 with stars) .
