No one will eat them but I don’t have loaf tins to make the famous lockdown banana bread that everyone is making.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

pancakes?
hot chocolate? (makes it really smooth and silky)
cut them into chunks and freeze for smoothies or instant ice cream

Do you have a Pyrex bowl, you can make banana loaf I that or any cake tin.
I only know about the bowl as I used on for a hedgehog cake once.

Typical banana bread recipes make muffins just fine. Or use a wider, shallower tin for a tray bake.

What sized or shaped tins do you have access to?

Pancakes sound good!

I have cake tins, muffin tins, Pyrex square dish things but I don’t know if I’d need to adjust cooking times if using a different shaped dish?

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

I've made these a few times, I think they use 2 bananas. Or she does another more fancy one with choc chips as well i think.

Banoffee pie or banoffee millionaires shortbread

A banana loaf recipe would work fine in a 7" round tin. It might be cooked slightly quicker but it's fairly bomb proof.

@TheMandalorian Blush sorry!

  • if you google ‘3 ingredient oatmeal cookies’ the first recipe suggestion is from Big Mans World and that is where the blurry photo originated from!

I've made banana bread in a cake tin once. Came out fine just had to slice it like a cake rather than loaf. Put walnuts in. It was yummy.

I might just attempt the bread in the cake tin because the kids love it! Thanks all Grin

Freeze in slices. Defrost a little then blend with full-fat milk, pb and a tsp of cocoa powder. Gorgeous milkshake!

Banana sponge. Melt 125g of butter with 150g sugar and 1tsp of vanilla essence. Add 190g s/r flour, 1 egg, 60ml of milk and 3 mashed bananas. Pour mixture into a lined and greased cake tin and bake for about 20 mins on 180 or 160 if a fan oven. Turn out from tin once cooked onto fresh greaseproof paper and when cool top with plain icing. This sponge dosent even last 1 meal time in my house!

Cake tin will be fine I'd say. BBC food have a vegan banana bread which is delicious and so easy. I'm not vegan but made it twice and we all loved it. Be sure to add in chocolate pieces. You don't need eggs which is a bonus.

Freeze them and then put them in the food processor to make icecream

TiddleTaddleTat · 30/04/2020 22:31

Banana milkshake. Mmmm
Or banana ice cream
Or just shove them in some freezer bags in the freezer and add to smoothies as and when.

No need for cake tins if you want to make banana mug cake!

secretldn.com/easy-banana-mug-cake-recipe/

And if no-one else will eat them, you can make it three times, all for you. Looks really nice. Wish I wasn't trying to eat low-carb...

You can make banana cake in any shape tin. You don't need a loaf tin.

@Phillipa12 used your recipe! It’s delicious thank you. The kids didn’t want to ice it. Now just to stop myself eating any more.
