Lockdown waffle maker recipes?

Evening all.

Following on from one of the frugal foodies threads, I was rather taken by a couple of suggestions of things to make in a waffle maker.

My weekly food shopping trip took me to Lidl today, and there it was. In the aisle of wonder. A mint green waffle maker, with waffle and doughnut plates. Grin

So, naturally, I'm going to have a go at waffles and doughnuts, but was wondering if anyone has any recipes for alternatives I can cook on a waffle maker. I heard tale of hash browns on the other thread...!

Well, I tried hash browns in ours (sandwich maker with switchable waffle plates), and I won't be making them again.
They were 'okay', but would probably have been better just formed into little patties and fried in a pan.
The mix also stuck to the top and bottom of the waffle plates and was really hard to get out.
Ds2 has found some really good waffle mix recipes though, mainly separating the eggs and whisking up the whites then folding the yolks and flour in.

This is a recipe I was given by a hotel when I got into conversation one morning. It works well but makes industrial quantities, so you may wish to reduce it Smile
