Panettone in a breadmaker?

So it turns out that the occasional panettone in cafe nero is the one treat i really miss in lockdown (breastfeeding a 4-month old, so wine is off the options and i have to get my treats where i can).

Does anyone know if it can be made in a breadmaker? (And if so, have a recipe?)

Ok Rubai, so I have been in the kitchen, panicking looking for my instruction/recipe book, and have now found it. Yes, I have one. I have a Panasonic SD ZB2502, so some instructions might be specific to that model, with regards to 'adding additional ingredients'. I don't know an easy way of getting the recipe to you, if you are better at this stuff than me .

Oooh! You’re amazing.
Can you take a photo of the recipe and post it here? (Paperclip symbol to attach) Thank you!
I have a panasonic too (not sure of the number, and trapped under a feeding baby so can’t check, but i’m guessing it will probably work.

Ok, so I've done it from my mobile, and so far nothing has happened...Bear with, as Miranda would say.

It's saying 'success' but it seems not. Have asked MN towers if there's a techy problem.

These are the menu/programme no's. Don't know if yours has a brioche setting, no 11 on mine, but if it doesn't, it's showing a rest time of 30min, 25-45 knead (including a period of rising) 1 hr 25min rise, and 50 min bake, giving 3hrs 30m total.

I've given up trying to do it on the mobile... let me know if there's anything else you need. I think you have to watch the dispenser for not getting everything extra into the main part of the machine. Please let me know how you get on!

Sorry! Didn’t get a notification of any new messages so missed this. You are brilliant, thank you. Am going to bully my breadmaker into doing this for me first thing in the morning, whether or not it has the right settings. I need my fix Grin

Good. I put the rest times etc on, cos if you don't have a brioche setting, you might chance the nearest setting to those timings IUSWIM. I'm very invested in how this turns out. Disclaimer: I have never used the brioche setting on my breadmaker Grin
