We had pork stroganoff last night and I’d forgotten how good pork is. Can anyone recommend some pork recipes, and what cuts they would use? We don’t have a slow cooker but otherwise open to suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Me. My pork tray bake. Chop peeled apples and chopped onions and diced potatoes add to a shallow backing tin sprinkle a packet of paxo stuffing over the top and put in the oven for about 15 minutes the place pork chops over the top and back until the chops are done to your liking When ready put the chops on the plates and use the potato/-apple Onion mix on the side I then make a gravy from granules in the pan to scrape off all the delicious bits at the bottom of the pan.

I cook pork steaks in the oven then serve with a sauce made from double cream, loads of garlic and whole grain mustard. It's lush.

Could I hijack for ideas of what to do with a large frozen bag of diced gammon (a mistake at the butcher). This feels like a good time to use it, but what in?! Maybe a stir fry?

Pork steak on a square of foil
Add thinly sliced onion, peppers & mushroom
Splash of white wine
Tablespoon on single cream
Sprinkle of mixed herbs, salt & pepper

Wrap foil into a parcel and bake at 180/Gas 6 for about 20-25 minutes. Serve with scooped out / twice baked potatoes and something green.

The gammon cubes I would fry off and make a pasta carbonara thing with a cheese sauce (assuming you have cheese and pasta) or fry off and make omelette (if you have eggs) Smile

Pork chops, sliced onion, sliced orange, white wine, salt and pepper.
Fry the pork chops and onion in a little olive oil in a heavy pan, add sliced orange and a couple of glasses of white wine. Season well, put the lid on, simmer on a low heat until the pork is tender.
Remove the lid and reduce the liquid just enough to make enough gravy for each plate.
Serve with mashed potato and a green vegetable.
I made this yesterday because we had more fresh oranges than we could eat. It was a nice change from pork with apple.

I love pork chops with honey and mustard sauce. I loosely use this recipe www.deliciousmagazine.co.uk/recipes/honey-mustard-glazed-pork-chops-with-mash/
I do add some Elmlea double cream light to it as well though.
A pork schnitzel is also good - loads of recipes for that. We use The Hairy Bikers.
