I've got 3 limes and 3 lemons. What shall I cook?

I ordered a bag of fruit and vegetables from a local pub. They've delivered a random selection, most of which I can use in normal meals, or once I run out of ideas, in a curry.

There are 3 healthy looking limes and lemons so would like to make something treaty from them. I've got small amounts of plain and SR flour, eggs, baking powder, sugar, sultanas, marzipan, even some icing sugar. What would you suggest?

Butter? Scones with a lemon lime curd.

Or lime drizzle cake AND... a lemon drizzle cake.

Do you have any polenta and ground almonds? Lemon and polenta cake is lovely. Plenty of recipes online. Also lemon & lime curd if you have eggs, sugar and butter and empty jam jars you could sterilise in the oven.

Lemon and lime cream tart. Or lemon and lime meringue pie?

Lemon meringue!

If you don't have enough flour for pastry, my mum used to just make the lemon filling topped with meringue in ramekins. Yum yum yum!

Put the limes in gin, while you're drinking that, make a lemon drizzle cake. Best of both worlds Gin Cake

I was going to suggest fajitas! But if you are just using the juice zest them first and freeze the zest for future use.

Jamie Oliver has a really good lemon pudding that I’ve made a few times, doesn’t take loads of ingredients either, just basic baking bits. It’ll only take up one of your lemons though. You could slice the rest and freeze them for drinks. Gin

Lemon fettuccine alfredo (if you can find the pasta!). Could also use the limes for fajitas/tacos.

Ooo, missed the bit where you said a treat. Ignore me! In that case I agree with the masses - lemon drizzle and a cocktail.

I was planning on making a simnel cake to share with my parents, hence the marzipan, but I'm the only one in this house now that would eat it and I've already got a secret stash of chocolate. Love the suggestions of lemon drizzle and ... lime drizzle. Such contrast 😊 Good idea, everyone will like it.

Cut them into wedges and freeze them. You can then use them in G&T and they double as ice cubes Gin
