How much ice cream for kids party?

I have 25 kids at DD's party. Am planning to do ice cream cones for dessert. If I buy those Carte d'or ice cream tubs which are each 1l, how many would I need to buy do you think? 2 is probably too little but would 3 work do you think?

Also, am I risking chaos if I go for two flavours?

You can probably google the volume of a typical scoop of ice cream and work out how much you need from that. I'd be buying Tesco value though

I'd Always over- rather than under- estimate: partly for generosity, partly so I get the leftovers!

I did this for my dd birthday last summer. I reckon 8 scoops per litre tub. Therefore you’ll need 4. If you get two flavours you’ll want more as some kids will ask for a scoop of each. My son picked blue bubblegum, candyfloss and toffee flavours- all from ASDA- and had flakes and sauces and sprinkles on the side to go with them. Worked really well!

I wouldnt offer flavour choice OP- standard Value Vanilla, with topping options would be far simpler and cheaper.

We got through 3 2.5 litre tubs with a similar number of children- they all got a scoop on ice cream, a wafer then helped themselves to sauces and toppings. Then some appeared for seconds.

Depends if you want the guests to have seconds, a choice of flavours, and the size of the cone. I think 3 litres should be enough

Thanks all. I am thinking the suggestion of plain vanilla but with toppings is a good one. I had bought two vanilla, one strawberry and one chocolate in my trolley, but the fear that everyone wants chocolate or whatever was stressing me out somewhat! I wasn't going to bother with toppings, but this feels like a good way to give the kids choice.

Four tubs vanilla it is with a few options on sprinkles etc.

1 small scoop is 50ml, so a litre tub is 20 servings. I believe carte dor is 900ml

I would suggest one flavour. Otherwise they will all want the same and chaos ensues

I’d do only vanilla flavour but let the children choose sprinkles, strawberry sauce or flake.

That way they get choice but you don’t have the worry of all the strawberry for example being gone by time little Sophie gets to the front of the queue and then you’ve got a melt down on your hands
